Hello fellow booksluts! My name is Kell, I’m 24 years old, and I live in Boise, Idaho. I’ve been a library volunteer for seven years now, helping with YA programs, and through that I’ve been exposed to a lot of great books I probably wouldn’t have picked up otherwise.
I’m bisexual, disabled, fat, and neurodivergent, and I make a conscious effort to seek out books representative of people like me, or at least, very similar. You will never catch me reading a book with a white, heterosexual romance as the main plot point, at least not at this point in my life. Well, unless they’re werewolves. There are exceptions to every rule.
I used to think I hated romance and everything about it, but in reality, I just hate the tropes that come with white cishet couples in fiction, especially YA. Since this realization, I’ve read a few diverse het romances that I’ve actually really enjoyed. So that’s something I’m honestly still working on, finding het that’s still diverse in some way.
When I’m not reading, I’m almost always watching movies. Movies are honestly tied with books for position of Greatest Love of My Life. I really love horror movies especially, and honestly spend so much time watching them that I’ve missed a lot of classic non-horror movies. So that is an ongoing project as well.
Miscellaneous: I love tea, especially oolong. I’m a fan of coconut flavored things. I never really wear pants, just dresses. I’m a consciously-intersectional feminist, a Slytherin, an ENTP. I love praying mantises and sharks, and my favorite colors are milky pink and neon green but not at the same time. I’m a slave to Kat Von D and honestly I should just give her my credit card number already. My big main fandoms are Star Wars and DC.
